Richard Marshall Opera and Photography

This is the most grizzly photo I have taken. It is of The House of Terror in Budapest: first the offices of the Nazis then of the Communists. It is on Budapest's most fashionable street, Andrassuy Ut, not far from the opera house. Depending on the mood of the government, sometimes it is closed to the public, other times it is open. If I remember correctly, photographing was not allowed. Nevertheless I took this photo in the lower reaches of the building. The cells were like dungeons. A terrifying reminder of Budapest's darkest days in modern times.
